Make preserved fruit using the solar oven ☀️
☀️ Why use the solar oven?
✅ You preserve your preparations naturally, without using energy
✅ You will find all the flavors of your preparations that you can consume all year round
✅ The solar oven process is simpler than traditional methods
✅ Gentle cooking in a solar oven does not alter the colors of the fruits
☀️ Preserves to make:
- Fruits
- Tomatoes or their juice
- Jams
- Jellies
Be careful, only preserve with acidic fruits and plants, do not preserve meat or vegetables in a solar oven! Do not add a sprig of parsley, as botulism could develop on any food that is not acidic.
Preparing for sterilization:
1. Preheat the solar oven facing the sun.
2. Select clean jars, preferably “Perfect” type jars.
3. Add fruit or tomatoes, sugar or salt to it and fill with water up to the neck of the jar. Please leave space for the elements to expand during cooking.
4. Close the lids of the jars and put them in the solar oven tank.
5. As soon as the contents of the jar start to boil, allow the same sterilization time as in an electric appliance.
6. Once sterilization is complete, let them cool slowly, preferably in the oven with the lid closed.
7. When the jar cools, the air vacuum makes the lid tight, it appears stuck. Check each cooled jar carefully to make sure it is tightly sealed.
If a jar was not properly closed, open it and add liquid or fruit and cook again in the solar oven until boiling. The quality will not be altered.
Store as desired and above all... enjoy all year round! 😋
